Concrete Bridge Bents

Bridge bents are generally heavily reinforced and require a large amount of labor and time to assemble and tie all the reinforcing steel required in both cast-in-place and precast bents. The use of Welded Wire Reinforcement can reduce this time and save money. The ability of Ivy Steel & Wire to produce sheets of WWR with large wires, up to ¾ inch in diameter, make it possible to assemble the reinforcing cage for bridge bents composed of a combination of WWR and rebar.

A cage of heavy WWR is bent to the shape required to fit the forms for the bent and then rebar is added to this cage to fill out the design requirements.

A significant savings in placing time along with the ability to meet tight placing tolerances are the benefits of using WWR rigid cages.
