Concrete Bridges- Rip-Rap (Slope Paving)

The use of Welded Wire Reinforcement in Slope Paving can save you time and money. The slopes under bridges at the abutments must be protected from erosion brought on by either wind or rain. If this area is left as exposed earth, it will soon erode and leave the bridge abutment exposed to undermining forces. A concrete slab is the best solution to this problem and the slab should be reinforced with light WWR. Joints  at frequent intervals in both directions along with Welded Wire Reinforcement will keep the Slope Paving performing well for a long time.
