Concrete Drainage Inlets

The reinforcement in an Inlet Drainage Structure can be provided most economically with Welded Wire Reinforcement. The availability of large wires and variable spacing found in using Ivy Steel & Wire’s Varigrid Reinforcement, makes this a logical solution to reinforce these precast drainage structures.

The WWR can be bent to fit the shape of the inlet throat and meet all the tight tolerance requirements. The bending of the WWR can be done at the Precast Plant or at the Mesh Manufacturing Plant, whichever suites the precaster’s operation. The advantages in bending at the plant include reduced shipping cost and reduced storage space. Some Precasters prefer to have it shipped already bent as they consider the reduction in manpower required to offset any additional shipping costs.

In either case the use of WWR can save you time and money when it comes to providing reinforcement for Precast Inlet Throats. Check with the Engineers at Ivy Steel & Wire for help in selecting the best solution for your reinforcing needs.
