Concrete Heavy Jointed Slabs

Welded Wire Reinforcement will save you time, because placing large sheets of mesh takes less time than tying individual rebar. It will save you money because the yield strength of the WWR is greater than that of rebar, and the reinforcement will stay in the proper place because it is machine welded rigidly in place.

Placing of large mats of WWR can be done using several methods, depending on the contractor’s equipment. One method is by “Walking –in” the reinforcing. The WWR is supported on wire supports to put the steel at the proper level. Large diameter wire now available makes the choice of WWR the best answer when the jointed slabs must support heavy loads.
