Concrete Shear Walls

In some walls the use of galvanized mesh is specified to assure that the required finish is maintained.

The ability to space the reinforcement at a closer spacing along with the use of larger wire, is the reason WWR sheets are a good answer for shear-wall reinforcement. “Jamb Steel” can be provided in a sheet of mesh that has different wire sizes and spacing in its layout near the end of walls. A more normal pattern is used in the middle section of the wall to complete the reinforcing. In cases where extremely high stresses occur, rebar can be tied to the sheets of WWR at the ends to reduce placing time.
