Concrete Sidewalk Reinforcement
To save money over the life of the project and provide a safe solution to your sidewalk requirements, use Welded Wire Reinforcement. Whether you use mesh in rolls or flat sheets, it will provide you with a positive way to control shrinkage cracks in slab-on-grade sidewalk construction. When properly supported in the slab, the Welded Wire Reinforcement will hold the cracks tightly together and allow the sidewalk to give years of satisfactory service, while holding down future maintenance costs.

Standard Building Mesh is sold in rolls or flat sheets, which are easy to ship and store. Wire sizes range from W 1.4 (dia. 0.135 in.) to W 5.4 (dia. 0.263 in.). Roll dimensions vary from market to market but are normally 150’ to 200’ long’. Flat sheets can provide significant savings in placing labor. Sheets cut to fit the dimensions of your sidewalk may be available from Ivy Steel & Wire for large jobs. Contact our engineers to see what we can provide. A common mesh pattern used in sidewalk construction is 6x6-W 1.4/W 1.4, this is often referred to as “ 6x6-10/10”, its old designation. No matter what you call it , the people at Ivy Steel & Wire will provide the proper mesh for your job. Give them a call today.
