Concrete Stay in Place Panels

Welded Wire Reinforcement, in conjunction with prestressing strand, makes a good combination in Stay-In-Place precast formwork. Tests have shown that the prestressing strand and mild steel reinforcement need not extend into the cast-in-place concrete of the bridge deck. This simplifies the manufacture of precast stay-in-place forms. Long-line prestressing beds, with WWR making up the bottom distribution steel, are used in many parts of the country in the manufacture of this popular forming system.
