Tunnel Lagging
Strong sheets of welded wire reinforcement with close wire spacing are a good solution for tunnel lagging. Sheets that one man can easily handle over his head, while attaching them to the roof of the tunnel, are being used on many projects today.
Proper design of the sheets allow them to be flexible enough to fit the shape of the tunnel, while at the same time strong enough to supply the required support.
Tunnel Formed Liners
Use sheets of welded wire reinforcement to provide strength to tunnel linings that are required in large diameter tunnels. The sheets are anchored to the surface and act as reinforcing to a concrete sprayed on coating. This is an economical method of forming a concrete arch to support the tunnel roof and is used for both temporary and permanent liners.
The ability of Ivy Steel & Wire Plants to manufacture sheets of welded wire mesh with different wire sizes and spacing, makes your design problems easier to solve. Ivy can provide either “standard” mesh or “special” mesh to give you an economical solution.
