Tunnel Precast Segments

The precision required in the placing of the proper amount of reinforcing in pre-cast segments for tunnel lining, can best be achieved by sheets of welded wire reinforcement. The proper area of steel and its exact location is the result of the use of specially designed sheets of welded wire reinforcement that can be repeated over and over again. The shape of the sheet can be bent or rolled to the proper curvature, so that placing it in a precise location in a form becomes an easy procedure.

When rapid production of identical pre-cast segments is required, placing of the reinforcing should not be a tedious and time-consuming operation.

Our engineers can use your design drawings of the pre-cast tunnel segments and design a sheet of mesh that fulfills all the reinforcing requirements. In most cases two or more sheets of mesh are designed to meet these needs. The bends and/or curvature are checked for accuracy at the mesh plant, or if it is more economical to bend at your plant, our personnel can provide assistance.
